Ply interior
Not really much to say other than ive started plywood interior and also put flashing tape on the wheel arches to help with road noise.

More repairs needed!
Took the camper on a weekend trip and it started to make a horrible rattle.
I think its one of the pulleys from the cambelt. Luckily i was going to replace cambelt and water pump anyway (Bit of a problem with the T4 apparently)
Should get it done at the end of of the month along with lots of the interior.

Bloody Van 2
Had the van booked in at All Van Mods today - to get windows fitted.
Turns out whoever had the van previously had put windows in that had rusted out. They then welded a panel in place. Unfortunately this left me with a gap that is too big for the windows.
Starting to wish i had just ditched it beofre spending so much on it.
Anyway - they are going to do the best job they can of sealing it up and I won't be putting windows in.
Yet another setback

Van is Back!
Finally got the van back today!! It is now roadworthy and rego is paid.
I have booked it in to get windows put in...goes in on the 1st June. Im leaving it at work for now so i should be able to get it insulated in my lunch breaks over the next couple of days. Should look better once there is insulation in because there is what looks like old glue all over the panels at the moment so it looks crappy.

Final Mechanics Report
Ok Biig list of things that are getting done:
All up i am looking at about 3 grand so not bad really. If i had bought the van with a roadworthy it would have cost roughly that - if not a bit more so not a bad deal.
Just want it back now - Gets back early next week sometime. Cant wait!

Mechanics Report # 2
Great News!!
It wasnt the head gasket yeeow! They have replaced spark plugs, distributor cap, some plastic hosing...they are about to do an auto service, sort the exhaust out and fix the windows.
Then they are going to do a roadworthy....keep tuned for update # 3...hopefully the last mechanics report!

Mechanics Report #1
Heard back from the mechanic today.
He said the oil light was coming on but didnt think there was a problem with the oil so is replacing 2 x oil sensors.
I knew there was one gearbox mount gone but there is a second mount that needs replacing as well. i think he said it was the banana mount.
Its also only running on 4 cylinders so that is why its sluggish. Fingers crossed thats not the head gasket and is only something like spark plugs.
Will have another update next week some time....FINGERS CROSSED!!

F@$¥*$G VAN
Pushing the van out of the drive to get it ready for the truck in the morning and I pushed it into a tree and put the back window through. I am not having any luck with this goddamn thing. I just hope my luck changes when it goes to the mechanic :(

D-Day at The Mechanics...Booked In
Not really too much to update but i have booked the van in at the mechanics for Tuesday 3rd May. I have everything crossed that it wont cost too much to get roadworthy. If it does i will have to seriously consider cutting my losses and ditching it. I will do a more detailed post once i have spoken to the mechanic.

I have also given the cab a vaccum and removed the grotty seat covers. I think i will keep the seats for now but put some waterproof covers on so i can jump straight in after a surf.
Some slightly good news - have found a place that can install both back windows for $550. A lot cheaper than i was expecting and should make it easier to do the ply lining etc. For now though ive ground to a bit of a halt. Need to get it running and then i can start worrying about the interior!

Stripping Bertha
Today I removed the cargo barrier, old panels and one smelly carpet!
Bit concerned that there is a fair bit of rust on the panels that are blanked out for windows. Looks like the seals are leaking and letting a bit of water in as the carpet was quite soggy and also the hardboard panels were mouldy in places. May need to put windows in which will slow the process quite considerably as im sure its something that will be quite expensive!
Next on the list cleaning down the interior and getting it ready for insulation / new windows. Luckily its the weekend so i will have plenty of time to give her a good scrub :)

Bought Van
I won the auction on my van! Needs some work doing but im excited!!
Edit: Needs LOTS of work doing may even be chaeper to ditch the poor beast but i love her now. Probably shouldnt have named her (Bertha) before i bought her!
I think she needs new engine mounts, new windscreen, exhaust leak fixed and new head gasket. Hopefully not too bad but will know more at the end of the month.
It came with some drawers in the back but i have taken these out. I forgot to take pictures before i took them out so pics are of the (very messy!) interior im left with.
